ENCLE at the European Parliament!

ENCLE is organising a joint event together with the European Parliament Anti-Racism and Diversity Intergroup (ARDI). The meeting will take place at the European Parliament in Brussels on the 3rd May 2016 from 11:00 to 13:00.

The aim of the jointly organised open meeting, entitled “Clinical Legal Education in Europe: Creating a new generation of lawyers to promote equality and access to justice”, is basically to show the development of Clinical Legal Education in Europe, to demonstrate the potential of Clinical Legal Education especially in order to promote racial equality, counter racism, and educate about non-discrimination in Europe and to discuss the possibilities, on how Law Clinics can effectively participate in this process and how Europe can promote Clinical Legal Education.

ENCLE Spring Workshop

The European Network for Clinical Legal Education (ENCLE) will be holding a workshop on the theme of preparing students for clinic.  The workshop will be held at Northumbria University on 15 and 16 April 2015 and is supported by the Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE).
 
The aim of the workshop is to generate discussion, through themed sessions, as to how clinicians can prepare their students for a clinical experience.  Delegates will be able to share their own ideas and experiences whilst learning from others.
 
Session facilitators will be drawn from a range of jurisdictions to enhance the discussion and draw out ideas for best practice.  The workshop is intended for both new and experienced clinical teachers, with a focus on strengthening their ability to prepare students for engagement in legal clinic.  The preliminary schedule is as follows:

Delegates can attend the full workshop at a cost of £50, or attend on 15 April 2015 only at a cost of £35.
 
Delegates can also attend the optional dinner on the evening of 15 April 2015 at The Bridge Tavern, Newcastle upon Tyne at an additional cost of £25 per person.  This Brewpub and Eatery serves British Comfort Food with a local twist.  There is also a micro-brewery on the premises brewing bespoke real ales which are served directly to the pulls.  Please note that places are limited.

8th GAJE Worldwide Conference

GAJE’s 8th worldwide conference will take place on the campus of Anadolu University in Eskişehir, Turkey, from 22 July through 28 July, 2015. The conference, which is being organized in partnership with the 13th International Journal of Clinical Legal Education Conference, will consist of two parts: a General Conference consisting of plenaries and concurrent sessions (22-25 July) and a Training-of-Trainers (TOT) workshop (27-28 July).

Rescue at sea, expulsion, detention centers.The protection of undocumented migrants in the experience of legal clinics

The Legal Clinic of the Department of Law of the University of Brescia organizes on 11 November 2014 a conference on "Rescue at sea, expulsion, detention centers.The protection of undocumented migrants in the experience of legal clinics".

 
The conference will outline some cases handled by legal clinics in countries of the Mediterranean area and explore the perspectives of advocacy, strategic litigation and collaboration between civil society and universities in this field, both at the national and European level.
